CONSULTANTATION SERVICES 

Kat Rose Simon had the pleasure of navigating this project in design and build with Narofsky Architecture & ways2design.

The first of its kind in Calacoto, La Paz, Bolivia, this Starwood “Design Hotel” has been widely acclaimed for its luxurious interiors, prominent architecture, and cultural heritage.

Working cross-culturally, in a foreign country at high (and cold) elevation, with unfamiliar building methods was an indescribable experience. Kat fell in love with La Paz, the people, and their appreciation for deeply saturated color and innumerable cheeses. Collaborating with local artisans all the custom finishes, fixtures and furnishings were created utilizing indigenous techniques and materials.

Consultation services included design through FF&E; international procurement, restaurant and bar design, collaborations with Claus Meyer’s restaurant team, and Gaston Ugalde, the prominent Bolivian artist whose work is featured throughout the hotel.
